In November, OSMO hosted a transformative workshop on mending as a radical act of healing, restoration, and sustainability. Guided by the team from NYC-based mending studio Eva Joan, together with fashion historian Ruby Redstone, and Universo Maglia, participants explored embroidery, weaving, and stitching techniques, breathing new life into textiles while uncovering the rich history and deeper meaning of mending. With the backdrop of the beautiful Tuscan landscape, through daily talks and hands-on sessions, we reflected on the interconnectedness of fabric, history, and personal narratives. The weekend culminated in the creation of a collective textile piece, which served as the backdrop for a beautiful farm-to-table lunch by Ruma Studio, bringing our shared experience full circle.
